DAAD Scholarship Certificate Handing Over Ceremonies
In total, DAAD awarded over 400 scholarships in the region, with 200 of them being felicitated in person at the 7 locations. The scholarships included funding for programs such as Hochschulsommerkursen (HSK), Working Internships for Science and Engineering (WISE), Development-Related Postgraduate Courses (EPOS), Combined Studies and Practice Stays for Engineers (KOSPIE), Research Fellowships, Reinvitation Program (WE) and Research Stay Fellowships (FA).
At the event held at the German Embassy in New Delhi, Georg Enzweiler, Deputy Head of the German Embassy in New Delhi, personally handed over the scholarship award letters. The Consuls General from Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kolkata, as well as the Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Deputy Ambassadors to Bangladesh and Nepal, participated in the certificate presentation at their respective locations. The Head of Science and Technology, German Embassy and Dr. Katja Lasch, Regional Director German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) joined the event in New Delhi.
During the event with the long-term scholarship awardees, they were grouped together to engage in collaborative activities. They worked on various topics such as the benefits of DAAD scholarships, cultural differences and exploring German cuisine etc. These group activities not only facilitated networking among the scholars but also provided an opportunity to delve into the cultural and academic exchange aspects of their upcoming experiences.
